Colour- Pale Gold. Nose - Immediate dry smoke, a light saline touch, dark malty tones with green apples and brown sugar beneath the smoke.

Palate - Earthy peat, roasted salt nuts, some citrus, balancing sweetness to the peat, creamy mouthfeel, subtly complex.

Finish - Good length, warming, salty and sweet, baked spiced apples with cinnamon and cloves, lingering smoky embers.

A nice surprise!

It's unusual to find a peated blended whisky. This Kyloe is excellent for a budget drink. Plenty of flavour and a rich aftertaste. No complaints at all and 50% too!

Expensive Taste at Inexpensive Cost

Have been looking for something to compete with Cask Strength Caol Ila, or Talisker 57 North, which are now hard to get, or very expensive. Kyloe Peated is very, very close in terms of palette and zing in the mouth, and instead of the smoky aftertaste in throat, you get a nice warm, deep 'Balvenie Double Wood ' experience. Personally, I think it's a brilliant whisky at a very good price.
