The Signature is the flagship expression from Australian brand, Morris. More familiar with producing fortified wine, Morris started distilling whisky in 2016 after restoring a still that had stood in the winery since the 1940s. This single malt has been aged in American and French oak casks, before being finished in wine barrels used by the Rutherglen-based winery. It’s sweet and fruity, with delicious notes of orange, cocoa, orchard fruits and berries.
Tasting Notes:
Colour : Polished copper heart with bright topaz hues.
Nose : Orchard fruit profiles, macerated black cherry and biscuit notes.
Palate : Extremely well-rounded with a pleasant mouth feel. Zesty marmalade jam, lingering cocoa and dark-berry flavours.
Finish : Primary maturation achieved in ex-Australian red wine barrels, then finished in casks which have held a selection of award-winning Morris fortified wines.
