Described as 'intensely smoked' and sweet, the Smoke Season whisky has been double mature in two different casks types; American virgin oak and Bourbon. Created with 100% intensely peated malt, it isn't often you see a heavily peated Speysider, but this was quite the tradition back in the day. Bottled at a 52.8 ABV too, tasty stuff from BenRiach.
Orange peel, chocolate and dry peat smoke.
A nice sweetness from the virgin oak casks, a distinct dry woody smoke, less iodine more bonfire and a little clove.
Almonds, a smokey peppercorn finish.
