Lochlea is an independent, family-owned distillery in the heart of Ayrshire, Scotland. They grow their own barley, distil their unique spirit and mature all of their casks on site. They are focused on crafting outstanding whisky using local ingredients, process and maturation combining them to offer a distinctive style of Scotch whisky.

The Our Barley Edition is the first core single malt whisky released by Lochlea. Production director John Campbell refined the cask recipe over several months, and the final whisky was decided following a blind tasting by the Lochlea team. By using First-fill Bourbon Barrels, Oloroso butts and STR Barriques, the nose opens up with a burst of pear syrup and fruit bon bons, followed by hints of zesty marmalade and cinnamon. The palate shows the signature Lochlea fresh fruit and cereal, with a luscious golden syrup. Finally, it shifts to macadamia nuts, cream soda, and a lovely lasting orange beeswax note.
