Built over 200 years ago - in 1817 - Teaninich is one of Diageo's powerhouse distilleries, used in blends such as Johnny Walker Red Label

Teaninich has quite a unique distillation process. Instead of a mash tun, the distillery utilises a hammer mill and mash filter – the only one operational in a Scottish malt distillery. This produces an ultra-clear wort, contributing to the Teaninich character: a fragrant exotic grassiness that brings to mind Japanese green tea and coumarin-rich bison grass.

This 13 year old example has been finishing since July 2022 in a first fill red wine barrique, fresh from the St. Emilion wine region of Bordeaux, France.
