Talisker is the only single malt Scotch Whisky made on the Isle of Skye beside the shore of Loch Harport in the jagged shadow of the peaks of The Cuillin.
Founded in 1830 by Hugh MacAskill, Talisker distillery remains faithful to traditional values. A hundred and eighty years of knowledge has been passed down through generations of distillers.
This enigmatic 25 year old starts slow, sweet and gentle, with balancing acidity and saltiness, then bursts into life with a minerally, toasty then peppery character that leads to a long, drying and warming finish.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Banana fritters, sea spray, old oak furniture, cider apples, a whiff of Frazzles, all held together with crumbly fudge notes.
Palate: Floral heather - perhaps a hint of rose too. Develops heavier notes of salted caramel, chilli chocolate, smoky barley and nectarines.
Finish: Smoke becomes sweet on the finish, with an undercurrent of cedar.
