Ardnamurchan's 2026 Heritage Barley release showcases 100% Golden Promise barley matured exclusively in bourbon casks, presented at full cask strength and totally unpeated. Golden Promise elevates the distillery's naturally oily, viscous spirit into a whisky with chewy, thick texture and three-dimensional character. Matured in bourbon, the distillate and barley take centre stage, delivering an agricultural, grassy character alongside vibrant fruit with bright, expressive dimensions. Tasting notes reveal white wine, soy glaze, gooseberry, jam tart, white chocolate and raspberry on the nose, moving through lemon sherbet, Sprite, icing sugar, apricot jam and hazelnut on the palate, finishing creamy, voluptuous and assertively long.
