Highland Whisky

The largest of the whisky regions of Scotland stretching from Highland Park in the north to Arran in the south it is very difficult to tie down a particular style. With many distilleries located near the sea to aid transport in the middle part of the 19th century there is perhaps a hint of smoke and a gentle maritime character in some whiskies such as Balblair, Brora, Highland Park or Talisker.
