After a long wait, the right Glen Garioch has finally arrived. As the most local distillery, it deserved to be done justice.

Often dubbed the “Springbank of the North East” (not just by those with a warehouse full of it), Glen Garioch now boasts its own floor maltings and a direct-fired wash still—choices that make little economic sense for a global company like Beam Suntory, but thrill whisky fans nonetheless.

Tucked into the heart of Old Meldrum village, the distillery is easy to miss, despite its rich character and history.

This small batch is nearly a single cask—mostly drawn from one stellar 1st fill bourbon barrel, with a small 40-litre top-up from a private sister cask. The result: a thick, tropical fruit bomb of a whisky with just a little more to go around.
