J.M Fumée Volcanique rum is matured for 12 to 14 months in Bourbon barrels that have been specially prepared beforehand by burning the barrels within the cooperage of the J.M rum distillery in Martinique.

The result of these aging conditions is a rum with an intense aromatic profile that has salted butter caramel, smokey notes, lime, cane blossom, honey, and anise.

The creamy palate has smokey notes, honey, and anise. The long finish also ends in a smokey note, as you would expect from Fumee Volcanique!
