Wolfburn's 200th Anniversary Release has been crafted from their oldest & finest casks. Consisting of 1821 bottles in total, it has been primarily matured in hand-selected bourbon barrels, with sweet sherry overtones imparted by spirit drawn from the very first cask laid down at the new distillery: Cask 2013 No.1.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Figs and apricots mix with soft oak tones. Oloroso sherry warmth comes gently to the fore.
Palate: The depth of flavour is tremendous. Honey-laced porridge meets stewed apples and sultanas. Wolfburn’s trademark smooth spirit brings with it a touch of heat while soft oak spices – cinnamon and cloves and ginger – are also present, all overlaid by a wonderful sweetness.
Finish: Does not disappoint; dried fruit and caramel flavours remain to the end and are neatly overlaid with hints of lingering oak smoke.
