I love nothing more than the opportunity to discover and sample new products and fortunately I am in a position to do both. The Gael is a distinctly Scottish gin that is smooth and delicious and a must try for any gin lover. The whole concept for this gin came together while four friends enjoyed the atmosphere, drams and music of a Scottish Gathering. Nigel and Beverley had a background within the drinks industry whilst Jamie and Tanya involvement in the music industry. Over good times and a few drinks the four friends came up with an idea that would incorporate the two and so 'The Gael' story began. The Gael is a fiddle tune which was originally written by Dougie Maclean in 1988 as a commission for The Loss Ness Visitor Centre and subsequently featured in the soundtrack for the movie The Last of the Mohicans, it is a tune that is played by pipe bands and fiddlers the world over. The tune is actually shown as a music score on the inside of the bottle.
Tasting Notes
Nose - Delicate and rich with a citrus burst and heather sweetness
Palate - Exceptionally smooth, subtle juniper with a slighty spicy flavour.
Finish - Smooth and warming.
