Bottled October 2020 and limited to 9,200 bottles this Springbank spent the first 14 years maturing in bourbon and rum casks before its last 3 in fresh Madeira.
Nose - Sweet and jammy. There are aromas ofparma violets, boiled sweets and butterytablet with a note of fennel. Sticky gingercake, strawberry jam with a tang ofgrapefruit and lemon sherbet. There is afamiliar coastal saltiness on the nose.
Palate - The briny, maritime characteristics followthrough with light peat smoke. Stickytoffee pudding, caramelised sugar and aspicy, herbal hint of black cracked pepperand tea leaves.
Finish - The finish is nutty, smooth and slightlywoody. Notes of walnuts and pecans withsubtle peat smoke to the end.
