This 29 year old malt comes from the lost Lowland distillery of Littlemill, the whisky within this beautifully attractive Glencairn crystal decanter and case comes from some of the last remaining casks filled just 4 years before the distillery sadly closed its doors back in 1994. This Limited edition is one of only 600 individually numbered bottles produced. This whisky is the latest addition to the Littlemill Private Cellar collection, a series of releases created by the Loch Lomond Group after acquiring the distillery’s remaining stocks of whisky. Littlemill 29 year old has been matured firstly in in refill ex-Bourbon casks, before its secondary maturation in first-fill oloroso Sherry and Limousin oak casks. Each bottle comes with a 5cl sample of the whisky, a piece of the cask used to mature the whisky as well as a small booklet giving information regarding tasting notes.
Nose - Floral notes of honeysuckle and rose mixed with layers of spice, cinnamon and nutmeg followed by crème caramel and blossom honey with delicate orange.
Palate - Silk like mouthfeel glides over the tongue, crisp green apples, ripe pear and kiwi fruit before a caramel sweetness is balanced by lime juice and orange marmalade citrus notes.
Finish - Long with toasted oak and waves of warming spice then thick, creamy vanilla and lingering green fruits.
