Kingsbarns Balcomie Lowland Single Malt 46% 700ml Whisky

Balcomie is the outcome of: barley source from sun-soaked fields of Fife; mineral rich water from an aquifer 100 metres directly below the distillery; an unhurried fermentation using both traditional distillers and French yeast; then a maturation in carefully selected ex-oloroso American oak sherry butts.

This produces a whisky with a sherry rich sweetness that compliments the fruity character of the spirit and a gentle oak influence that makes a perfect balance.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Toasted fruit loaf the toasting making raisin and cherries lend a lovely sweetness and bringing out the spices like nutmeg, pancakes with cinnamon and maple syrup.

Palate: More fruit on the palate some candied orange peel, notes of tinned pineapple, and the spices like cinnamon still swirling through. Freshly baked cinnamon rolls that still warm and almost doughy.

Finish: The fruity character of the spirit continue through to the finish, with jammy notes and toasted nutty wood flavours
