Each year Master Blender - Rachel Barrie at The Glendronach specially selects a handful of individual casks from the warehouses at the distillery, to be bottled as a limited release. With maturing whiskies dating back as far as 1968, there is a vast selection of barrels, hogsheads, puncheons and butts to choose from. Each of these casks display truly remarkable characteristics; the malt whisky contained within having developed exceptionally during the long maturation process. Individually numbered by hand, each vintage release is an exclusive one-off, with only a limited number of bottles available.
Nose - Robust, hearty and firm, with the rich aroma of orange and lingonberry sauce, plum and herbs.
Palate - Full-bodied and unctuous with dark sherry, angelica and roast chestnut and sage.
Finish - Lingering traces of liquorice, fennel and bitter dark chocolate sauce.
