Each release of Fettercairn 16 year old malt will showcase a maturation journey that enhances the tropical distillery character derived from the copper cooling ring distillation process.
The 2020 release has been distilled with chocolate malted barley and matured in first fill American ex-bourbon casks, before being enhanced in select sherry and port casks.
Chocolate malted barley is heavily kilned, rising to a temperature of degrees over two hours, creating a rich flavour and dark roasted colour.
Nose: Vanilla and ginger, with sun-kissed raisins
Palate: Succulent peach, ginger and caramel gives way to banana, with chocolate and demerara sugar delivering a perfect finish.
