Diageo DE samples

Buying this samples set is really good option to try 5 expressions not spending fortune and avoid disappointment. Only Lagavulin out of these 5 samples is worth to buy full bottle. Talisker and Oban are pretty average not better than Talisker 10 and Oban 14 for example. Dalwhinnie and Cragganmore ate both nothing special and to forget.

Looking forward to distillers edition samples, as have a few of these unopened.
Instead I was sent supermarket samples I wouldn’t drink even if desperate!

Great tasting

I really enjoyed all the whisky that we tasted in this tasting

Packaging needs work…

I love the fact this lets me sample parts of the Diageo editions. However, having bought tasting sets from several other sources I had an expectation of the quality of the presentation, and it fell short. The box containing the set gives very limited protection, and yet both sample sets (one for me, the other a gift) were shipped in a plastic envelope without any bubble wrap around them. One of the packs was dented and one of the bottles within it also dented. The lid on one of the samples had come loose and an amount of whisky - small, but evident - had been lost to the angels! The fact the sample bottles are plastic is also an issue as it reduces the shelf life of the contents. All that said, the price was considerably lower than those comparable sets I mentioned. And I did like the fact you used labelling close to the originals. My recommendation would be to charge more and improve the packs, including glass bottles that are better sealed. Since I do expect to enjoy the whisky as and when I drink it, it’s a 3 for me, but with a few tweaks and even just a bit of bubble wrap, it could easily be a 4 or 5.

All new drams for me, a great way to try without buying a full bottle like I did with my first Islay whisky/ended up giving it away
