This third release from Retribution Distilling Co is a single cask matured in an Oloroso hogshead, a vessel that has significantly influenced the developing spirit. The maturation imparts pronounced notes of red berries, dried fruits, subtle nuttiness, and a clear sherry-driven sweetness. These flavours are layered over a smooth, creamy new-make character that still shines through beneath the cask’s richness, allowing the underlying spirit profile to remain perceptible and distinctive.

This batch also represents a shift from Laureate malt to Maris Otter, floor-malted at Warminster Maltings. The use of Maris Otter, paired with direct-fired copper pot stills, enhances depth and complexity in the new-make, contributing additional structure and flavour development. The result is a more expressive and nuanced whisky that showcases the influence of both raw materials and traditional distillation methods.
